Police are ramping up their search for the armed thief who broke into the home of a multi-millionaire Instagram influencer, Shafira Huang, and stole over $12 million worth of jewelry from her Primrose Hill mansion. Huang was not in her home in the North London neighborhood when the jewelry heist took place.

Huang’s Social Media Highlighted Her Luxury Lifestyle

Huang is more than just an Instagram influencer. She is also an art collector and cultural ambassador of the Halcyon Gallery on Bond Street.

Huang has a following of over 13,000 people on Instagram. She often displays her wealthy lifestyle on her public social media account, providing aspirational content to her followers. Her posts usually feature her traveling globally with her Louis Vuitton luggage in a private jet to exotic locations.

The art connoisseur and her husband, whose name she hasn’t revealed, appear to have an ideal life as they enjoy such adventures as yachting around Hong Kong’s harbor, skiing in Aspen, or visiting the desert in the Middle East.

Huang’s social media reels display her wealthy lifestyle, from spending time with her family at a mansion to her travels worldwide. An avid traveler, she documented her trip in the fall through Italy with stops in Florence and Rome. In September, Huang highlighted a girl’s trip on a yacht in the harbor of Hong Kong, including being served lobster while relaxing on a picturesque beach.

Huang also attended Paris Fashion Week in June, where she attended luxury brands’ designer shows, such as Balenciaga, Chanel, and Hermes.

About the Theft

It is reported that the thief accessed the second-floor window of the mansion located on Avenue Road. Properties in the area cost over $18 million. The theft took place on December 7, around 5 PM, before the Christmas holidays. No one was in the mansion at the time.

The thief, described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, has a medium build and wore a dark hoodie, cargo pants, and a gray baseball cap when he broke into the home.  His face was covered, and he had a weapon with him during the break-in. The thief stole various pieces worth over $12 million.

It is unknown if the theft was random or targeted. The items stolen include a Graff 10.73-carat diamond ring, two De Beers butterfly diamond rings, a Hermes 3.03-carat ring, an aquamarine ring, and a Niloticude Lumiere necklace.

The thief also absconded with other items of jewelry from luxury brands Chopard, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Katherine Wang. Hermes Crocodile Kelly handbags were also taken, worth over $180,000 and $18,000 in cash. The Metropolitan Police released images of the stolen items in hopes that someone could provide information about the theft.

In her online posts, Huang is shown wearing several missing items while seated in the back of a luxury car, having dinner with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and relaxing on a yacht.

Among the jewelry displayed are stolen sapphire and diamond necklaces, a Hermes Crocodile Kelly handbag, a Van Cleef & Arpels diamond bracelet with her name, and a stack of crystal bracelets designed by Hermes.

Detective Constable Paulo Roberts said, “This is a brazen offense, where the suspect has entered the property while armed with an unknown weapon and violated the sanctuary of the victim’s home.” He added that the jewelry is “sentimental and unique in its design, and therefore easily identifiable.”

Huang and her husband are offering $1.8 million in rewards. This includes over $600,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect and 10% of the value of any items recovered due to the tip.

Huang was not deterred by the heist from enjoying the holiday season and attended a festive dinner for the British Forces Foundation and hosted a meal with the Duchess of York.
