The luxury hospitality company Four Seasons has partnered with global investment firm Albwardy Investment to open a new resort in Zanzibar. The new property at Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar will be located on the white sand beaches of Pongwe.
In a press release, the Four Seasons President of Global Business Development, Portfolio Management, and Residential, Bart Carnahan, said, “It’s an honor to partner with Albwardy Investment on this exceptional project in Zanzibar. Together, our shared vision for creating best-in-class experiences will soon introduce a new Four Seasons resort to a destination that luxury travelers already know and love. With this incredible island’s dynamic character and beauty on display, we look forward to welcoming guests as they discover a new side of Tanzania alongside the commitment to genuine care and service of Four Seasons.”
Four Seasons Resort Zanzibar will be located on a 126-acre beachfront property and feature 60 private villas with single, double, or triple-bedroom configurations. The internationally renowned architecture firm eco.id will design the architecture of the resort as well as the interiors, where it will work alongside MOMA. Each villa will provide views of the Indian Ocean.
Chairman of the Board of Albwardy Investment, Mr. Ali Saeed Juma Albwardy, said in a release, “In partnership with Four Seasons, we have successfully curated a portfolio of unique travel experiences around the world, always honoring the distinct spirit of every location and the legendary service that has earned its longstanding global reputation in luxury hospitality. There is a tremendous opportunity to do the same in Zanzibar, and our new resort will highlight the island’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage while enriching the region’s vibrant hospitality landscape.”
The resort will host world-class features and services, including an oceanfront pool with a cabana. There will be a complimentary Kids For All Seasons Program, fitness facilities, and space for meetings and events. The resort will host water sports and excursions that feature the best of the exotic location. One flagship feature will be the luxury spa, which will include five private treatment rooms or an outdoor cabana for open-air spa experiences.
Another feature will be the Discovery Center staffed with dedicated on-site conservationists, meant to ensure the island’s natural habitat is respected and protected, but also fully experienced by guests. The center will host community partnerships that support guest experiences while promoting wildlife protection, sustainability, and environmental preservation. It is the hope of Four Seasons and Albwardy Investment that guests will fully enjoy the environment while leaving a positive impact.
The resort will be 23 miles off the coast of Tanzania. Flights will connect the resort to the award-winning Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. Daily flights from Zanzibar International Airport will also connect to mainland destinations in Tanzania, such as the Kilimanjaro International Airport, as well as hosting direct flights to Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
Four Seasons and Albwardy Investment represent one of the most impactful partnerships in the international tourism industry, with partnered collaborations and individual investments that span continents. Their unparalleled reputations as businesses and hospitality powerhouses have made them a brand of global acclaim, and this new resort is a highly anticipated addition to the world’s hospitality landscape.
