Content creator and musical artist Stephen Sharer is charting his own path through the creative and competitive world of YouTube by creating compelling content while still keeping it clean. The internet personality wears his status as one of the top family-friendly creators on the platform as a badge of honor, seeking to keep his content positive, wholesome, and consistently entertaining.
Sharer began laying the foundation for his international fanbase after uploading his first video to YouTube eight years ago. Titled “Insane Backflip Challenge,” the video sees him team up with his brother Carter Sharer to complete the challenge of doing a backflip on a bike, inspired by a video by famous YouTube prankster Roman Atwood and professional daredevil Travis Pastrana. The video received thousands of views and inspired Sharer to continue uploading YouTube videos and eventually pursue content creation full-time. Sharer began exploring different types of content, from the stunts that put him in the public eye to adventure vlogs and eventually music, with the release of hit singles such as “TikTok Cutie” and “Share the Love.” “
“One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced in my YouTube career is staying consistent and relevant in a constantly evolving platform. Algorithms change, trends shift, and audience expectations grow,” Sharer observed. “To overcome this, I stay adaptable by staying true to what interests me and continually researching new trends, experimenting with content, and listening to my audience’s feedback.”
The title and message of the song “Share the Love” became the inspiration for Sharer’s Share the Love brand, which sells branded merchandise such as neon-colored T-shirts, hats, and other apparel. The brand organizes Sharer’s live tours, which has reached famous venues such as Lyric Opera House in Baltimore. At his live shows, Sharer performs music and entertains audiences through activities such as storytelling, acrobatic stunts, and audience participation.
Through his Share the Love brand, Sharer has also published his first major venture outside of content creation, the digital app Stephen Sharer’s Rocket Slide. The app is an interactive game in which players control a digital Stephen Sharer as he slides and jetpacks through different exotic locales, collecting points and items as he speeds through the scenery. The app reached #4 on the Apple App Store upon its release in 2020.
Throughout all of this, he strives to ensure all of his content carries a positive message and is free of any language parents may not want their children to hear. “I focus on exciting
and engaging content while keeping it very clean – something most content creators do not do,” he emphasizes. His family-friendly content has made Sharer an often-requested celebrity for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which he has worked with closely to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
As of December 2024, Sharer’s channel has over 11.7 million subscribers and over 6 billion views. He often appears in videos with his siblings and parents, affectionately referred to as the “Sharer Fam.” Sharer aims to continue sharing his message of love and positivity not only through his frequently uploaded videos, but also through his music, live shows, and other public appearances.
